Deborah Lyons AW17-18
With a background in fine art Designer Deborah Lyons moved to New York in 2005 and enrolled at Parsons to earn a degree in Fashion Design.
Having started her career interning with Nicole Miller and then working for twin shoe designers who had a company in NYC, she soon after moved to Italy, learning shoe making in the marché region and developing a small collection which was quickly picked up by Harrods, Dover Street Market, Liberty, and Matches amongst others. Simultaneously she became the designer of a tailoring brand based in New York City with the collection sold to Browns, Henry Bendel, intermix and Takashimaya.
Though a decision to move back to London led Deborah to put the brands on hold and move instead into design consultancy in various capacities for brands which have included J Mendel and Melissa Odabash, as well as a variety of young fashion labels, in late 2016 Deborah partnered up with buyer and boutique owner Kamelia Kamel to launch Deborah Lyons. Kamelia’s invaluable retail experience and business acumen as well as her innate sense of style have given a dynamic foundation to the young brand.
Drawing on references to futurism seen through the lens of golden era Hollywood, this is Designer Deborah Lyons’ debut made in London collection. Capitalising on the rich history of British tailoring the brand is founded on transitional, timeless, and effortless styling, exclusively made from the finest British and European fabrics.
Deborah Lyons is quickly becoming known for its uniqueness in style and quality and for delivering iconic classic staples for every wardrobe. Deborah’s inspiration comes from the incredible women she has had the good fortune to meet along her journey and she designs for these women and for other female leaders of tomorrow.
