Jean Paul Gaultier AW17-18
After seeing Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture collection for fall 2017 I can definitely say that a suit, plus metallic, plus full body coverage screams powerful.
Jean Pault Gaultier’s fall 2017 couture collection screamed power and sophistication. The models paraded on the catwalk with all kinds of black, grey, white and metallic colored suits that had a tight waistline, the most common trend seen on Paris couture collections the tight small belt around the waist.
Draped overcoats, matching tight leggings, square shoulders with a lot of volume and generally tight designs that enhanced the models body bringing out a sense of raw powerful femininity, the kind a business woman has and needs. Jean Paul Gaultier does power very well.
Powerful, edgy and artistic designs worn by models who marched on the catwalk with confidence knowing that they are wearing creations of a great designer. The white details on the colors and the decoration gave of a sense of a small tribute to the snow queen, is that what Jean Paul Gaultier wanted to achieve? Who knows, the only thing we do know is that this couture collection was pure icy magic for the whole brand.
There was a lot of evident creativity drawn from the designers own source of inspiration that reminded us something of raw reality – ready to wear clothing, along with snow queen inspired designs and something of Arabian royalty. Nothing certain and nothing easily defined for Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture collection.
After all Jean Paul Gauntier is not at all easily defined and that’s a fact.
